Foreclosed properties hold back US economy
As more homes than ever face feared bank seizures, economists struggle to solve complex problem.

Most economists agree the housing crisis remains the biggest obstacle to economic recovery in the US.

But there’s no consensus on how best to fix it and the rate of foreclosed properties has hit a record high.

Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports from Rochester, New York.

(amusing to me that they obviously spent some time driving around to the more blighted parts of town when the neighborhood the people whose house is being foreclosed upon live in is a perfectly nice one. guess the story just isn’t complete without the obligatory ruin porn…)
